LEGENDARY MEMBRANE
Like other K2 Power products, this kit features the K2 aramid fibre cone. It combines rigidity, lightness and damping, the three key factors of a high-performance loudspeaker for pure, high-impact sound.
HIGH-QUALITY TREBLE
TKME inverted dome tweeters with “M” profile, also in aramid fibre, deliver treble of the utmost smoothness and precision. They are combined with bi-amplifiable audiophile crossovers, ensuring optimum control of high frequencies.
EASY INSTALLATION
For optimum, flexible mounting, the tweeters can be mounted in three different ways in vehicles: in the original slots, flush-mounted or on an inclined support.
K2 sandwich membrane
The diaphragm, the key component of a loudspeaker, is at the heart of our acoustic engineers’ research. Shape and materials are essential for high-fidelity reproduction. In 1986, our teams unveiled an aramid fibre sandwich membrane, recognizable by its unique yellow color. It has been extensively renewed over the years, while retaining the characteristics that made it such a success. Today, it consists of an ultra-light foam core sandwiched between a layer of aramid fibre and a layer of glass fibre. It combines the three key factors of a loudspeaker membrane: rigidity, lightness and damping, for a precise, dynamic and uncolored sound.
Optimized filters
Every element of a loudspeaker is important. Our engineers focus on every component, including the crossovers. Crossovers provide each loudspeaker with a signal that enables it to work at its best in the frequency range for which it is designed. For K2 Power kits, all crossover components have been specifically selected and optimized to better control heat dissipation effects, and manage channels and soundstage with reliability and performance.
Tweeter TKME
As specialists in loudspeaker membranes, Focal’s acoustic engineers are constantly working on the creation of new cones, as well as on all associated components. Mounted on a highly resistant aluminum mounting, the TKME “M” profile tweeter extends the frequency response to 22 kHz, while further reducing distortion, for smooth, accurate high-frequency reproduction. Coupled with a push-pull motor based on IAL2 technology, it reaches very low resonance frequencies, for perfect harmonic balance.
